We need the whole Jesus. The complete Jesus. Everything he said. Every detail of what he did.

When evangelism is retooled as recruitment, then marketing strategies for making Jesus attractive to a consumer spirituality begin to proliferate. Words or aspects of Jesus that carry unwelcome connotation are suppressed.

Every omitted detail of Jesus, so carefully conveyed to us by the Gospel writers, reduces Jesus.

We emasculate Jesus!!

God had a design and a reason to create males the way He did. For that reason, God says, He created us in His own image. Yes! It takes the image of God created in women together with that in men to see a more complete picture of the image of God created in humans. But each of us even by natural birth is created in the image of God. Men YOU were created in the image of God. That image, though marred by the fall and our own selves, is nonetheless the foundation inherited by each human character -- all MEN! What more lofty purpose do you want? What could be more exciting. More radical! More of an honor! More MALE. Than being like God! A reflection of God! The way a son, in his looks and actions, is so often a reflection of his father? What could be more pumped than walking shoulder to shoulder with our God? THIS WE WERE CREATED TO BE!
